USF Rallies to Beat Providence!

I'm talking Noriega, the REAL NORIEGA!
The USF Bulls, down most of the second half, were able to catch fire in the second half and beat Providence 55 to 48.  The Bulls are now 15-10 (8-4) on the season and sitting in great position after this effort!

Anthony Collins had 4 points, 6 assists, and 2 rebounds on the day.  Hugh Robertson had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Ron Anderson Jr. had 4 points and 3 rebounds before he fouled out in the game.  With him out of the game, the Friars were able to attack inside and take the lead in the second half.  Victor Rudd had 11 points and 10 rebounds on the day, doing a solid job in his start.  Augustus Gilchrist had 8 points and 3 rebounds on the day as well.

The real story was the play of the bench.  Jawanza Poland had 9 points and 6 rebounds, sparking the offense.  Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 2 points and 6 rebounds and Blake Nash, on a sore ankle, had 5 points.  Shaun Noriega, coming off the bench in the waning seconds of the game, came off the bench and drilled two 3-pointers to put the Bulls ahead for good.  After a few free throws at the end and a technical foul on the Providence coach, the Bulls were able to walk off the court with the huge win.

This is a huge win for the team and the program.  The Bulls now have 8 wins in league play and 15 wins overall as they try to get to a postseason tournament of any kind.  They still have a lot of work to do and will have another huge game when they return home to face Villanova on Wednesday night at 7PM.
