USF Baseball Goes Down 0 to 3 to Eastern Illinois

The bats went quiet as the Bulls lost game two of the three game series to Eastern Illinois, dropping them to 9-6 on the year.

The offense manged just one hit the entire game, a single by Alex Mendez.  EIU jumped out early and with their great pitching, were able to silence the Bulls in their way to a strong win.

Andrew Barbosa got the start.  He went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, walked 1 and struck out 4 batters.  He struggled a bit in the first inning, but was able to get into a groove as the game went on and shut down EIU.  Nick Gonzalez went 1 inning, allowing 1 hit, 1 walk, and struck out 1 batter.  Steven Leasure went 2 innings, allowing 1 walk and one hit.

The Bulls will look to take the series tomorrow afternoon in the rubber match at 1PM.
