USF Softball Splits Double Header Again

The USF ladies split the second double header this weekend, beating Harvard and falling in extra innings to Miami (Ohio) as they end the weekend with a mark 13-4.

The Bulls won game one 4 to 2 over Harvard.  Sara Nevins dominated again, working 6.2 innings, allowing 6 hits, 2 runs, walked 1 and struck out 8.  Lindsey Richardson got the final out.  Gina Kafalas was 1 for 3.  Kourtney Salvarola went 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Kenshyra Jackson went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs.  Laura Fountain went 2 for 3 as well.

The Bulls faced a pitching duel against Miami of Ohio in the second game, falling in extra innings 1 to 2.  Sam Greiner went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 run, walked 1, and struck out 4.  Sara Nevins went 2.2 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 3.  Gina Kafalas went 1 for 3 and Stephanie Medina went 1 for 3 with the lone RBI on the day.

The Bulls are still playing well but want to get more wins before hitting the conference schedule.  They have a mid-week double header against Central Michigan at home that could get them back to their sweeping ways.
