USF Takes the Court to Face WVU in a Huge Game to End the Year

Kevin Jones and WVU are in town.
The USF Bulls 19-11 (12-5) return home for their final regular season game of the 2012 season and what a season it has been.  The Bulls have far exceeded expectations this year and will look to end the regular season and head to the Big East tournament on a high note, but WVU stands in the way.

WVU is 18-12 (8-9) on the season and finds itself on the bubble just like the Bulls do.  Both teams need a win here, so expect a hard fought game in the final game (tip off at 12 noon).

The Mountaineers are averaging 72.5 points per game this season, running both up-tempo and half court when needed. They are a very physical team that is coached well (Huggins) but they are just 3-6 away from Morgantown while USF is 14-1 at home at the Forum.

WVU is led by senior forward Kevin Jones (6-8 260-pounds) who could be the Big East player of the year (ironic since they are leaving to the Big 12 next season).  Jones is averaging 19.1 points per game, 10.9 rebounds per game, and has 18 blocks. He always seems to find his way to the ball and battles for rebounds, making him a tough matchup for Anderson and the USF front line.  Senior guard Darryl Bryant (6-2 195-pounds) is averaging 17.4 points per game (shooting 30% from 3-point range), 3.1 rebounds per game, and has 26 steals on the year.

Junior forward/center Deniz Kilicli (6-9 260-pounds) is another big presence in the paint.  He is averaging 11.1 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game.  Freshman guard Jabaric Hinds (5-11 175-pounds) is averaging 7.5 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.  Freshman guard Gary Browne (6-1 185-pounds), freshman forward Aaron Brown (6-5 220-pounds) is averaging 3.4 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game, and freshman guard Keaton Miles (6-6 205-pounds) is averaging 1.8 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game off the bench.

This game is going to be a battle.  Both teams need another win on their resumes as they try to make it to the NCAA tournament and both teams are evenly matched, which will makes this a knock down, heavy weight fight.  With it being senior night for USF and the home crowd behind them, the Bulls should have just enough in them to get the win and head into the Big East tournament and hopefully further.
