Could USF Land DE Transfer from Notre Dame?

News broke yesterday that a star defensive end, Aaron Lynch of Notre Dame, would be transferring back to his home state of Florida and USF could be a possible landing spot for the highly talented pass rusher.

Josh Newberg of Bulls 247 broke the story first ($) that Lynch would be transferring out of Notre Dame after completing his spring semester at Notre Dame.

The former 5-star (4-star according to Rivals) was one of the most decorated pass rushers coming out of high school two years ago.  In his freshman season at Notre Dame, he played in 6 games, totaling 5.5 sacks (led the team) and had 33 tackles as well.  He was considered one of the more experienced defensive players for the Irish and had huge expectations surrounding him this season.

Lynch was originally recruited by USF, receiving his first offer from the Bulls, but never made a visit. He originally committed to Notre Dame, de-committed after visiting FSU and committed to them.  However, after battling over the decision, he decided to sign with the Irish instead, but now he wants to return closer to home (Cape Coral is his original home).

The 6-6 270-pound end is a star player that wants to play closer to home, but where in the sunshine state could he land?  According to Bruce Feldman (he is hearing from a source) Notre Dame won't release Lynch to UF, Miami (on their schedule this season) or FSU which is great news for USF.

Stay tuned to see where this talented young man could land.
