USF Baseball Drops Second Straight Game to Villanova

The Bulls rallied late, but were unable to get the win, falling 6 to 7 and dropping to 28-15 (11-5) on the season.  USF have dropped two straight games now, falling out of the Big East race and will have to fight to avoid the sweep tomorrow afternoon.

Joey Lovecchio struggled again, going just 4.1 innings, allowing 10 hits, 5 runs, and walked 2 batters.  Mike Clarkson went .2 innings, allowing 1 hit.  Adrian Puig went .2 innings, allowing 2 hits and 2 runs.  Janick Serrallonga went 1.1 innings, striking out 2 batters.  Austin Adams went 1.1 innings, allowing 1 walk and struck out 2 batters.  Nick Gonzalez went .2 innings, walking 1 and struck out 1.

James Ramsay went 3 for 5 with an RBI.  Todd Brazeal went 1 for 4 with an RBI.  Jimmy Falla went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored.  Andrew Longley continued his power streak.  He went 2 for 4 with a home run and drove in 3 runs.  Kyle Teaf went 2 for 3 with a triple.

The Bulls will look to avoid the sweep tomorrow as they take the field at 1PM.  USF really needs to get a win tomorrow to continue to stay in the hunt for a regular season Big East title.
