USF Women's Soccer Takes on Pitt to Open Big East Play

The USF women’s soccer team returns home after taking two games last weekend in Charleston to run their overall record to 4-3-0, as they start conference play.  Last year ladies went just 2-6-3 and will be looking to get off to a hot start with Big East foe Pitt coming to town.  Pitt is 5-5-0 (0-1-0) on the season after taking a 1 to 5 loss to Marquette and will be looking to bounce back in this game (game begins at 1PM).

Pitt is led by freshman midfielder Morgan Sharick who leads the team with 4 goals (just 7 shots) and has added one assist. Sophomore defender Rilieigh McHugh has 2 goals this season, coming up from the backline and helping add to the attack.  Sophomore forward Alex Charbebois has 2 goals and 1 assist so far in 2012.  Senior forward Ashley Cuba has 1 goal and has taken 25 shots on the season and is one of the most aggressive strikers for Pitt.  Christiane Endler, who has done a great job in the net this season, will be challenged a lot in this one.
The USF front line will be facing sophomore goalkeeper Nicole D’Agostino.  She has made 39 assists so far this season and has allowed 15 goals.  In just 10 games, that is quite a few shots she has been challenged with, showing the backline is not getting a lot of pressure on the opposing offenses.  The USF front line with Stokes, Passariello, and others will have to keep up the pace and dictate the tempo to keep the pressure up and hopefully capture that first Big East win of the season.
